What a Escudo means to me?
One of my favorite quotes is from Robin G. Collingwood. He said:
“The value of history… is that it teaches us what man has done and thus what man is.”
I was born and raised among men connected to the special branches of the armed forces: 4 commandos in my family; I entered a military school at the age of 10 and made myself a man in uniform until higher education, where I pursued police sciences and security studies. Today I work serving my country, leading men who solve complex security problems in our society.
Throughout my life, I have been inspired and motivated by stories of brave, warrior men who have achieved great things through discoveries and wars. These important men fought for Portugal, for growing a nation and building a flag – the Portuguese flag today has as its main 5 Escudos related to 5 Moorish kings that D. Afonso Henriques defeated in one of the most important battles of Portugal.
As a true patriot I defend my country and try to achieve several international podiums to raise my national flag. Today, when I think of Escudo, I think of time, the history of Portugal, and the Portuguese warriors who stood for values such as courage, intelligence and attitude.
Time is the primary metric that any high-performer values most. It is one of the only variable that transcends us all. Time is also a legacy. What we leave behind, the achievements, the mastery.
I am happy to share that I have become an ambassador for Escudo Watches.
Your time, your legacy.
