In this series, we’re diving deep into the world of endurance racing as I prepare for my Ironman 70.3 Cascais challenge. If you’re new here, don’t forget to hit that subscribe button and ring the notification bell so you won’t miss a single update on my quest to become a (half) Ironman.
As you know, I got 9th place in the Hyrox Elite World Championships in May. Being 41 years old, having a full-time job, being a dad of 2 boys and being dedicated to coaching is – to me – a great achievement.
On the Hyrox off-season, I have decided to do something different and go for a Half Ironman. But I don´t want to finish. I want to improve my skills in every discipline and achieve the best performance possible. I also want this endurance prep to transfer as much to my upcoming Hyrox season. In this first stage, I have defined my short and long-term goals and try to show you how important it is to have a clear objective and how that helps you stay motivated and focused.
According to the specific goals and effort investment (time and energy) together with my coach, David Matos, I have developed a very specific Training Plan. To program most efficiently and individually, tests are essential. You can watch the more important ones and, by the way, see me suffer ( a lot) 🙂.
Becoming an “Ironman” is a significant achievement, but remember to enjoy the process. Embrace the challenges and celebrate your progress along the way.
